• Kansas Announces 2012 Spring Football Dates
  First-year Kansas football head coach Charlie Weis announced the dates for the Jayhawks' spring season here Wednesday afternoon. KU will open the 2012 spring season on Tuesday, March 27 and will wrap things up on Saturday, April 28th with the annual Spring Game at 1 p.m., at Memorial Stadium.
• Kansas Football Hosting Walk-On Tryouts
  Kansas Football will be hosting walk-on tryouts in March for any full-time KU student who has a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above. KU students who meet the academic qualifications and are interested in trying out to be a walk-on candidate for the football team should contact assistant director of football operations Scott Vestal via email at [email protected].
• Jayhawks Add Neal Page To 2012 Signing Class
  Dominant defensive end Neal Page of Birmingham, Mich., chose to play football at the University of Kansas, signing with the Jayhawks and head coach Charlie Weis. Page, who prepped at Seaholm High School, is the 19th player to sign with KU in the February signing period, in addition to three January transfers, pushing Weis' first class haul to a total of 22 athletes.
• Steven Johnson Invited to NFL Combine
  Former Kansas linebacker Steven Johnson has been invited to participate in the annual NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ind., Feb. 24-27.
• Football Schedule Set; Coach's Corner Deadline Extended
  Kansas Athletics has announced a final extension for the popular Coach's Corner tickets for the 2012 football season. The $99 season ticket package for KU's six home games is now available through March 19 or until sections 1 and 2 are sold out, whichever comes first. Fans are encouraged to order early as a limited number are available.
• Kansas Football To Host TCU, Travel To West Virginia In 2012
  Kansas football will host new Big 12 Conference rival TCU in its 2012 conference opener and will travel to new league member West Virginia in its regular season finale according to the newly released schedule that was approved by the Big 12 Directors of Athletics Tuesday morning. Kansas, who will play six home games at Memorial Stadium in 2012, will open by hosting South Dakota State on Saturday, Sept. 1, in head coach Charlie Weis' inaugural campaign.
• Tevin Shaw Joins Kansas Football's 2012 Signing Class
  New Jersey standout running back Tevin Shaw has joined the 2012 Kansas Football signing class Jayhawk head coach Charlie Weis announced Monday. Shaw, who attends Piscataway High School, is the 18th player to sign with KU in the February signing period, in addition to three January transfers, pushing Weis' first class haul to a total of 21 athletes.
• Former Jayhawk Rivera Signs Future Contract with New England
  Former Kansas linebacker Mike Rivera has signed a future contract with the New England Patriots and will remain with the team through the offseason.
• Kansas Football Holds Assistant Coaches' Media Day
  Kansas football held a media day session with its coaching staff on Thursday morning in the Chancellor's Lounge at the Anderson Family Football Complex. Members of the media were invited to breakfast at 9 a.m., and then given the opportunity to interview any of the assistant coaches that make up Head Coach Charlie Weis' staff.

  Kansas Head Football Coach Charlie Weis and his staff hit the ground running upon being hired in mid-December, collecting a total of 20 signatures for its 2012 football class released Wednesday.

  Former Jayhawk linebacker Steven Johnson and the West emerged victorious, 24-17, in the 87th annual East-West Shrine game played Saturday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
• Weis Completes Coaching Staff By Hiring DeMontie Cross As Linebackers Coach
  DeMontie Cross was hired by Kansas football head coach Charlie Weis Thursday to coach the Jayhawk linebackers, as Weis completed his coaching staff at KU. Cross, who recently finished his first season as special teams coordinator and safeties coach at Wisconsin, arrives at Kansas with experience on both the collegiate and NFL level.
