• EMU Announces 2012 Football Camp Dates
  The Eastern Michigan University football program has announced the dates for its 2012 football summer camps. A one day camp will be offered Sunday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 27. The Seven-on-Seven Tournament and Big Man Camp will take place Saturday, June 16. All camps will be held at Eastern Michigan University at Rynearson Stadium.
• Mike Hart Named EMU Assistant Football Coach
  Mike Hart, the University of Michigan football program's all-time leading rusher, has been promoted to an assistant football coaching position at Eastern Michigan University, Head Coach Ron English announced today, Feb. 27. He will serve as the team's running backs coach and recruit southeastern Michigan after spending the 2011 campaign as the squad's offensive quality control assistant.
• EMU Football Adds 24 in 2012 Football Recruiting Class
  Eastern Michigan University Head Football Coach Ron English announced the 2012 football recruiting class Wednesday, Feb. 1, as part of the annual National Letter of Intent Signing Day. The list includes 20 high school standouts and four talented junior college transfers.

• Former EMU Football Coach Bob LaPointe Passes Away
  Bob LaPointe, who served as a member of the football coaching staff at Eastern Michigan University from 1978-1982, including a stint as interim head coach for eight games in '82, passed away Jan. 31, 2012. He was 66 years-old.

  Eastern Michigan University football players Alex Gillett, Austin Karcher, Jay Karutz, Andy Mulumba, Marlon Pollard and Willie Williams were named to the 2011 Academic All-MAC Team by the Mid-American Conference Friday morning, Jan. 13.
• Football Excels In Classroom In 2011
  The Eastern Michigan University football team achieved an all-time team record with its 2.712 team grade point average in the recently ended 2011 Fall Academic Semester. The team GPA, reflecting 101 student-athletes enrolled in classes, is an all-time high for the Eagles football program.
