Oakland Raiders vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Oakland Raiders won their first Vince Lombardi Trophy by defeating the Minnesota Vikings on January 9, 1977 at the Rose Bowl. The 1977 Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player was Raiders wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff, who had 4 catches for 79 yards that set up three Raider touchdowns. Also, 37-year old quarterback Fran Tarkenton became the second NFL’s quarterback to start three Super Bowls.
